1962
One almirah of karas
The shop opens in Katra Ahluwalia with a single almirah — karas, kanghas, and a shelf of gutke. Ten minutes on foot from the Darshani Deori, which is still how most of our sangat arrives.
1988
The cloth counter
The second generation takes on dastar cloth. Voile and rubia are measured, cut and overlocked on the counter itself, which is why a length bought here ties the way you expect it to.

A packing bench goes in at the back, and orders begin leaving Amritsar for sangat across India. The counter has not changed; only the number of places the parcels go.
